Caring for Your Quartz: Simple Rituals
One of the great advantages of quartz is how little it asks of you. Unlike natural stone, it does not require periodic sealing. It resists staining, etching, and the daily wear of a busy kitchen with quiet resilience.
Still, a few simple habits keep the surface looking as refined as the day it was installed.
Daily care
Wipe with a soft cloth and warm water, or a mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners that contain high concentrations of bleach or ammonia for regular use. For most households, a quick wipe after cooking is all that is needed.
Stubborn spots
A non-abrasive cleaner formulated for quartz or a paste of baking soda and water will usually lift residual marks. Allow it a moment to work, then wipe clean.
Heat & impact
Quartz is heat-resistant but not heat-proof. Always use trivets or hot pads under pots and pans fresh from the stove or oven. Sudden extreme temperature changes can, in rare cases, cause thermal shock. The same principle applies to heavy impact โ while quartz is highly durable, it is not indestructible.
Treat the surface with the same respect you would give any fine material, and it will reward you with years of understated beauty.
